New Santas for Simply Primitives

I have two new Santas for the Simply Primitives update for the 15th. Just thought I'd share a little sneak peek.

After a miserable week of rain and winds we're finally going to have some sun and nice temperatures for the weekend. I'll be in sewing though, I'm working on another Santa for Ebay.

Hope you're all having a great weekend, time is really flying by....Thanksgiving is almost here.

New Santa Hanger

I listed this Santa Hanger tonight on my Ebay page. I love making these Santas, they're perfect to hang on an old cupboard or piesafe door, add to a wreath or even hang on the end of a kitchen cabinet for a bit of Christmas cheer.
I hope you can check him out, the auction ends next Monday night at 8:00 P.M. eastern time.

I'm working away on the sewing machine trying to finish a couple of pieces for Simply Primitives update on Nov. 15th (or the night before).

If you're not already on my email list and would like to be, just click on my email address above and request to be added. I have lots more new Christmas I'm hoping to get done and if you'd like to know when and where I'm offering new pieces my email notes are the best way to find out.

Hope you all have a great week, I'll be sewing up a storm.

New Santa on Ebay

Tonight I listed this Santa Make-Do on Ebay. I recently found some interesting candlesticks at a couple of local thrift stores. The one I used for this Santa is, most likely, brass but is covered with a silvery finish. It's very heavy. I love the way it turned out with this Santa.

I hope to possibly use another of the candlesticks for something I want to make for the Simply Primitives update coming on November 15th. More to come about that later.

The weather has been good for staying in and sewing, it's turned quite a bit colder here in recent days. The other day I made a big pot of chicken vegetable soup using some of my frozen and canned vegetables from the garden. It was perfect for this colder weather!

So I'll be here, busy sewing. Check back soon to see what I've been working on.

~~~~Remembering~~~~
Today is the sixth anniversary of my Mom's death. In some ways it seems like yesterday and in others so very long ago. I just know that I miss her as much today as I did that terrible October morning in 2003. Her death was sudden and unexpected. I was the only other person in the room with her and remember feeling so frightened and scared but to me it is truly amazing that death can be so utterly quiet and peaceful and yes, so final.
Six years on I still feel the tremendous loss of my best friend and Mom but also realize I was fortunate to be with her in her final moments.
I debated about even mentioning the day's significance to me on my blog. But, my Mom loved helping me with my work and I think she would have really enjoyed seeing me expand my sales to the internet. Together, she and I made handmades for a couple of shops here in Virginia. I sewed, she stuffed (much better than I'll ever be able to do), I might add! If we were painting something she base-coated and I did the detail painting. We just worked perfectly together, laughing and talking as we worked. I truly miss her companionship and advice. She was a wonderful Mom and my best friend.
Featured Artist
For the month of October I'm the featured artist on Moondog Cottage's Blog . I hope you'll check out Sheri's blog for the story and pictures about me. You can also read about Debbie Goodwin of The Secret Garden, Debbie is the featured "Women's Business" of the month. I think you'll enjoy reading about her business and seeing her wonderful pictures.
I'm finishing up an order and also working on my things for the TDIPT Mercantile update this Wednesday night. I also have a witch I would like to offer on Ebay this week. I think she'll be my final Halloween listing for this Fall. I really hate having to stop making Halloween and Fall items, this is my absolute favorite time of the year to design for.
I do have a couple of Santa and snowmen designs that I'm thinking about, so look for those real soon.
I also wanted to let you know the TDIPT Group has a special treat we've been working on most of the year, it's almost ready to unveil, so keep checking back. I'll be posting about it in the very near future.
I hope you're all having a great weekend, it's pouring rain as I sit here typing. Come to think of it..it's perfect for staying in and sewing!
